FEW IMPORTANT TIPS FOR TYRE CARE

1. Check and maintain proper tyre pressure in your automobile.

The correct tyre inflation pressure allows the tyre to operate at its best. Every automobile tyre has a suggested inflation pressure, which is the optimum tyre pressure for increased ride comfort, safety, and fuel economy. In the automobile owner’s handbook, the recommended tyre inflation pressure is listed. When you drive with the right air pressure, your tyres last longer and are more durable.

Furthermore, driving on a tyre that is underinflated might cause tyre splitting and air loss. In addition, if the tyres are overinflated, the automobile will vibrate excessively when driving. As a result, fill the tyres to the appropriate air pressure and check them using a tyre pressure gauge.

2. Examine the tread depth on your tyres.

Tyre tread makes direct contact with the road surface and aids in the stability of the vehicle in a variety of driving conditions. Deeper tread depths provide the best grip and performance. Long distance driving wears down the tyre treads over time. If the tread depth falls below 1.6 mm, it is time to replace the tyre. Some tyre manufacturers have released new tyres with tread wear indicators that emerge when the tread grooves wear down to 1.6 mm. This means the tyre needs to be changed. It’s a good idea to get it examined by a tyre professional at your regular auto maintenance appointments.

3. Rotation of the tyres

The car’s tyre placements should be altered in particular patterns on a regular basis. The rotation patterns for your tyres will vary depending on your vehicle type, and you should follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Tyre rotation is a preventative maintenance technique that maintains even tyre wear. It also contributes to tyre longevity.

4. Alignment and balance of the wheels

Wheel alignment and balance are two more key tasks included in tyre maintenance. The angles of the wheels are set appropriately during wheel alignment for optimal riding comfort and increased stability. Wheel balancing is another tyre service that should be addressed. Because to uneven tyre wear, the car striking a curb or a pothole, and other factors, the wheels become unbalanced, causing vibrations in the seat, floorboard, and steering. Both of these maintenance treatments are often performed in tandem and considerably aid in the elimination of tyre bounce, vibrations, steering wheel issues, and other issues.

5. Maintain a safe speed.

Driving erratically not only jeopardises your safety, but it also shortens the life of your tyres. When you travel at a higher pace, you strike potholes and speed bumps more frequently, causing damage to the tyre structure. The sidewalls of tyres are severely damaged by abrupt braking and harsh driving. As a result, slow down ahead of time if you’re approaching a speed bump or a pothole.
