Common Reasons for a Car Breakdown

Car breakdown is a very stressful experience – your vehicle could be a new one or an old one but either way your car is still susceptible to a breakdown due to a host of reasons. Let’s have a look at a few of the reasons below:

  1. Flat Tyre:  Flat tyre is invariably one of the most common reasons for a breakdown. It’s highly imperative to check your tyre pressure, tread depth, it’s wear & tear and to look for any potential damage to your tyre walls on a routine basis in order to avoid a situation that could cause a breakdown in the middle of the road.
  1. Engine problems: When an engine overheats, it can be due to many reasons, the most common of which is radiator fluid leak. Radiator fluid’s main function is to keep your engine from overheating. There could also be a problem with the radiator or water pump. Some of the warning signs include the temperature gauge being in the red zone or steam escaping from under the hood.
  1. Dead Battery: Your car battery tends to die if you leave  your vehicle lights on or the radio keeps playing while your vehicle isn’t running. Your engine essentially charges the battery, so if it isn’t running, the lights or radio will quickly drain the power. How will you know your car’s battery is dead? The car engine only cranks lightly or won’t crank at all when you turn the key and the warning light comes ON.

It’s highly imperative to ensure to get your vehicle routinely inspected in order to ensure all the complex components in your vehicle are running in perfect condition at all times. A poorly maintained vehicle can lead to sudden breakdown in the middle of the road.
